Wood Wood Herr

Jag gillar den här looken ifrån Wood Wood AW 12. Skjortans detaljer är fina och påminner om blocktrenden, och hela outfiten ser väl sammansatt och grunge-aktig ut tycker jag.

I like this look from Wood Wood AW 12. The details of the shirt are nice, and remind me of the block trend, and the whole outfit is put together well and has a grunge style to it, I think.

Shoes AW 2012

Det verkar som det kommer bli en höst med höga stövlar nästa säsong, vilka är mer vida än de slimmade lårhöga stövlarna vi såg för några säsonger sedan. De första bilderna är ifrån Givenchys pre-fall 2012 kollektion, och jag kunde inte låta bli att ta med alla mina favoriter, som är fina både pga kläderna och fotona i sig, tycker jag.

Sen kommer ett foto ifrån Wood Wood AW 2012,  och efter det en bild ifrån Acnes pre-fall 2012 kollektion; lägg märke till det transparenta partiet på de stövlarna. Vilket leder oss till det sista stövelparet, som är ifrån Ann-Sofie Back AW 2012, och vilka verkar vara samma skor som hon gjorde till Cheap Mondays SS 2011 visning. Denna gång är de stylade med sockor i, och jag gillar det, jag gillar hela stilen den tjejen har till höger i bilden. Jag önskar att jag själv såg mindre gothrock-aktig ut med mörkt läppstift...

It seems we'll see some high boots for next fall, boots with a wider shaft than the narrow over knee boots that were around some seasons ago. The first pics are from Givenchy's pre-fall 2012 collection, and I couldn't help posting all of my favourites. Besides from the beautiful looks, I also find the photos beautiful by themselves.

Following, there's a pic from Wood Wood AW 2012, and then one from Acne's pre-fall 2012 collection; notice the transparent section on those boots. Which leads us to the last pair of boots, these are from Ann-Sofie Back AW 2012, and seems to be the same shoes she did for the Cheap Monday SS 2011 show. This time they're styled with socks, and I like it, I like the whole outfit and styling of the girl to the right in the picture. And I wish I would look less like a goth rocker with dark lipstick on...

Crazy Beautiful Skirts

Nyligen skrev jag att jag vill addera mer färg och roliga plagg till min garderob, och jag tror att ett bra sätt för mig att göra detta på är att som ovan använda en mönstrad eller färgglad kjol, för då kan fortsätta att använda mig av de många grå överdelar jag redan har. Snyggt och användbart.

Den första kjolen ovan är ifrån Hope SS12, de andra är ifrån Acnes föregående höstkollektion och därför ej tillgängliga längre. Men kanske det går att hitta något mönstrat i en 2:nd hand butik? Och gula korta kjolar finns att hitta på H&M och COS. 

På Cos har de även min cardigan på rea i färgerna brunt och orange, men ej i de andra färgerna, tips.

I recently wrote that I want to add more colour and fun garments to my wardrobe, an I think using a printed or colourful skirt would be a good way for me to do so, because then I could wear it with one of the many grey tops I've already got. Beautiful and wearable.

The first skirt is from Hope SS12, the others are from Acnes past fall collection, and therefore not available anymore. But maybe you can find something similar in a 2:nd shop? And yellow short skirt are to be found at H&M and COS. At Cos they also have my cardigan on sale in the colours brown and orange at the moment, but not in the other colours, just a tip.

Feels Just Like It Should

Nyligen avslutade jag en kurs på Stockholms universitet, och i och med det har jag nu 6 års akademiska studier, vilket känns mycket bra!
Jamiroquai är ett band jag brukade lyssna mycket på i slutet av 90-talet. Först i och med att skivan 'Rock Dust Light Star' kom ut 2010 (vilken jag tycker är en av deras bästa), kom jag att tänka på dem igen. Låten 'Feels Just Like It Should' är ifrån ett tidigare album, ett av flera för mig tidigare oupptäckta album ifrån dem. Och att hitta (eller återupptäcka) en artist man tycker om med flera bra alster bakom sig känns också mycket bra!

I recently finished a course I took at Stockholm university, which means that I now have 6 years of academic studies, and it feels very good!
I used to listen to Jamiroquai a lot in the late 90's. And it wasn't until the album 'Rock Dust Light Star' was released in 2010 (which I think is one of their best albums) that I thought of them again. The song 'Feels Just Like It Should' is from one of their earlier records, one of several to me previously undiscovered records from them. And to find (or rediscover) an artist that you like which has several good albums behind them also feels very good! 

Playful and Silver!

När jag har reflekterat över 90-talsmodet och dess återkomst har jag känt att ett element har saknats i det nuvarande modet vilket fanns på 90-talet; en viss lekfullhet. Jag skulle vilja ser mer experimentell glädje och roliga detaljer, mer färg och särskilt mer silverfärg i dagens mode.
Min glädje var därför mycket stor när jag tittade igenom Opening Ceremonys SS12 kollektion (de första fotona ovan), för där fann jag vad jag sökte! Följ gärna länken och titta igenom hela kollektionen för fler fina och inspirerande bilder.
En sak jag behöver införskaffa är nya vårskor, och jag skulle inte tacka nej till skorna på det första fotot ovan. Sulan påminner mig om ett par sneakers jag hade på 90-talet, de såg ut ungefär så här. De följande fotona ovan är först ifrån Proenza Schoulers SS12 kollektion, och jag tycker dessa fina bilder visar på hur man kan addera en detalj såsom neongult för att få en rolig effekt. De sista fotona är ifrån Acnes prefall 2012 kollektion, och i ett pressmeddelande om kollektionen säger deras kreativa chef Jonny Johansson
bl a att: 'We played with the girls of the mtv generation pimping their school uniforms. Black and white stripes combined with techno silvers and tv test pattern prints.'
Apropå MTV-generationen och techno silver så dök låten 'Spaceman' med Babylon Zoo upp i mitt huvud för ett tag sedan, när jag såg Opening Ceremonys kollektion. Konstigt hur en låt jag inte har tänkt på sedan den toppade listor i mitten av 90-talet kan komma tillbaka sådär? Det måste silverplaggen i videon som har fastnat någonstans i mitt minne, och känslan som låten ger mig, samma känsla som jag tycker ovanstående bilder förmedlar. Det är känslan av en uppmaning som säger till mig att vara mer lekfull i min stil och att använda mer färg!
För den som vill hitta liknande plagg till budgetpriser, visade Blame it on fashion nyligen upp några av vårens plagg på H&M, och där finns både neon och silver och annat fint.

When I've been reflecting upon the 90's fashion and its current revival, I've felt that there's a factor missing from the current fashion that was present in the 90's, and that is; some playfulness. I would like to see more experimental joy and fun details, more colour and especially more silver colour in today's fashion.

I need to get a new pair of shoes for spring, and I wouldn't mind the ones in the first photo. Their soles remind me of a pair of sneakers I had in the 90's, they looked kind of like these ones. The following pics above are subsequently from Proenza Schouler's SS12 collection, and I think these beautiful pics showcase how you can add a detail, such as neon yellow, for a fun effect. The last pics are from Acnes prefall 2012 collection, and their creative director Jonny Johansson said in a press release about the collection that: 'We played with the girls of the mtv generation pimping their school uniforms. And about the MTV generation and the techno silver; the song called 'Spaceman' by Babylon Zoo, popped up in my mind a while back whilst I was looking at the Opening Ceremony collection. I think it's a bit strange how a song that I haven't thought of since it topped the charts in the mid-nineties just can come back into my mind like that? I think the silver-coloured garments in the music video must be stored somewhere on my mind, and also the feeling that the song gives me, it's the same feeling that I get from the above pictures. It´s the feeling of an encouragement for me to be more playful with my style and to wear more colour!
If you're looking for similar items on a budget, Blame it on fashion recently showed some of spring's new items at H&M, where you'll find both neon- and silver-coloured and other nice items.

Vinterkappa & Ny Butik

Jag skulle behöva en ny vinterkappa, och om jag hade pengar över skulle jag satsa på denna ifrån InWear. Jag gillar den avrundade formen, och att ullmaterialet ser så mjukt ut, dessutom är den på halva priset nu.
Ett annat tips är att en av personerna bakom bloggen Anywho, vilken är en av mina favoritbloggar som ni kan se av min blogglista, i mars ska öppna en butik som ska heta B56. Av bilderna att döma verkar det vara en återspegling av hennes egna mer färgglada och roliga, men ändå smakfulla stil, som jag tycker stämmer in på Anywho och den danska stilen generellt. Butiken kommer att ligga i Köpenhamn, men som tur är kommer det även finnas en webshop. Jag kommer definitivt att kika på webshoppen när den öppnar, för jag är intresserad av mer färglada och roliga plagg nu när våren är på ingång, vilket jag kommer att skriva mer om i nästa inlägg.
För att återknyta till vinterkappan, så verkar det som att B56 kommer att sälja en fin trenchcoat som också är ifrån InWear, vilket man kan se i det högra hörnet på den andra bilden ovan.

I would really like to have a new winter coat, and if I'd had the money for it, I'd definitely go for this coat from InWear. I like the oval shape, and that the wool fabric looks so soft, plus it's on 50 % sale right now.
Another tip is that one of the persons behind the blog Anywho, which is one of my favourite blogs as you can see from my blog list, will open a store in March called B56. From the pictures shown so far, it seems like a reflection of her own colourful and fun, yet elegant style, which I think is true for Anywho and the Danish style in general. The store will be located in Copenhagen, but luckily there'll be a web shop as well. I will definitely have a look at the web shop when it opens, because I'm interested in more colourful and fun pieces now that spring is coming, I will write more about that in my next blog post.
To reconnect with the winter coat; it seems like B56 will sell a nice trench coat which is from InWear too, which you can see in the right corner on the second pic above.

Tie-dye times three

Den första bilden är tagen på Agnes ifrån Rodeo i november förra året, det andra fotot såg jag på Anywho i december, och det tredje fotot är ifrån Celines pre-fall 2012 kollektion, vilken jag såg på style.com nu i januari. Pälsen ifrån Celine tror jag inte egentligen är batikad, men jag tog med den här för att den gav mig en sådan känsla, och för att det var det plagg som jag tyckte såg intressantast ut i kollektionen. 

Fotot på Agnes har funnits i mitt huvud sedan jag såg det för två månader sedan, eftersom jag gillar hur cool hon ser ut, och att hon ej ser ut som en hippie trots den batikade toppen. Och som ni kanske vet, har jag även varit 90-talsfixerad sedan ett tag nu, och jag minns tillbaka hur batik var en trend ett tag detta årtionde. Batik var en del av flera 70-talsinfluenser som kom igen på 90-talet, men då var stilen mer färgglad och hippieinfluerad till kontrast mot ovan.

Jag ska ej göra det lätt för mig och säga att 'tre är en trend', för jag anser att man kan se väldigt många trender om det är det man letar efter. Jag menar, man skulle kunna säga att jeans är en trend, eller att färgen svart är det, bara man likt ett modemagasin hittar flera liknande plagg att visa upp jämte varandra. 

Och när jag tänker tillbaka tror jag att batikens återkomst på detta mer återhållsamma sätt var för några år sedan. Jag har själv en batikad transparent blus i blå toner som jag köpte vintern 2007, den har aldrig varit min favorit men har ändå alltid klarat sig när jag har rensat i garderoben. Och när jag sökte på batik på internet fann jag att det har listats som en trend vid flera olika tillfällen de sista åren, med start hösten 2007. Det verkar med andra ord vara en trend som har sipprat omkring de senaste åren utan att slå ut i full blom. På både gott och ont anser jag, då jag starkt gillar tanken på att plagg håller länge trendmässigt, men samtidigt kan jag tycka att det är tråkigt med plagg som jag inte känner så mycket för men som ändå hänger kvar längst bak i garderoben. Men jag gillar dessa bilder, kanske borde jag ha på mig min gamla blus snart? Och likt hon på andra bilden gå på vernissage och känna mig kulturell, och säga 'ja tack, jag skulle gärna vilja ha ett glas (gratis) vin'.

Efterredigering 25:e jan: Jag såg sen att denna bloggare hade skrivit detta inlägg dagen efter mitt, om hur hon tycker om denna vårkollektion, som innehåller mycket batik.

The first pic of Agnes from Rodeo is taken in November last year, I saw the second pic on Anywho last December, and the last pic is from the Celine pre-fall 2012 collection, which I saw on style.com this January. I don't think that the fur coat from Celine is tie-dyed, but I wanted to post it here because I find it transmits the same feeling, and because I found it to be the most interesting piece in the collection.

The photo of Agnes has stayed on my mind since I first saw it two months ago, because I like how cool she looks and that she doesn't resemble a hippie in spite of that tie-dyed top. And, as you might know, I've been fixating about the 90's fashion for some time know, and I recall that tie-dye was on trend for a while during the decade. Tie-dye was a part of several 70's influences that returned during the 90's, but back then it was a more colourful and hippie-like style, in contrast to the above pictures.

I won't take the easy road and state that 'three is a trend', because I believe that you can find many trends, if that's what you're looking for. I mean, you could state that jeans is a trend, or that the colour black is, if you in a fashion magazine manner display similar looking pieces next to each other. 

And when I think back, I believe that the return of the tie-dye, in this more toned-down version, was a few years back in time. I have a transparent tie-dye blouse in blue shades that I bought in the winter of 2007, it's never been a favourite of mine, but has yet always made it when I've re-organized my closet. And when I searched for tie-dye on the internet, I found that it's been listed as a trend several times since the fall of 2007. In other words it seems like a trend that has quietly been around for some time without making it big. I find that to be both positive and negative in the sense that I really like it when you can have pieces in your wardrobe for a long time, but I also think that it can be boring with pieces that you keep there that you don't love but just like a bit.

With that said, I must say that I like the above pictures. Maybe I should wear my old blouse again some time soon? And be like the girl on the second photo and attend an opening of an art exhibition and feel cultural and say 'yes please, I would like a (free) glas of wine, thank you very much'.

Jalouse - Une Fille Comme Les Autres

Jag tycker den här videon är så rolig och intressant, då den visar på hur marknads-krafterna vill få oss att köpa saker, men på ett övertydligt och parodiskt sätt. Regissören Matthew Frost berättar genom denna reklam för tidningen Jalouse tänket bakom: We use a super hot chick... she should even change outfits several times during the day, no big deal, c'est la vie, bam, changed again. You could even see an actual jealous chic, the neighbour, she's all 'fuck that shit, I wanna be her'. Well dude, it's easy, just buy Jalouse and be like me, or at least be my friend or something. Jag hittade videon på den här fina bloggen.

90-talstendenser igen, nu hos Weekday

Häromdagen var jag även förbi Weekday. Där såg jag ovanstående rosa skjorta på rea, och pastellfärgen fick mig åter att tänka på 90-talsmodet då jag minns att jag hade ett par färgade jeans i ljusblå pastellfärg runt 1995. (Pastellfärger är förresten en av vårens trender.) På Weekday finns det många plagg med 90-talets grungestil. Och de säljer ju även 2:nd hand kläder, vilket blev populärt att köpa först på 90-talet och har varit det sedan dess.
På det andra fotot provar jag en tröja på Weekday som också finns på rean. Den får mig att tänka på naturmodet som var inne på 90-talet. Exempelvis hade jag ett par beiga kängor i ett slags styvt linnematerial, som hade ordet 'Grunge' broderat på sidan. På 90-talet var det stort med miljöfrågor, så jag antar att det var tidens anda (Zeitgeist) som avspeglades på modet.
Det är därför jag har med Jamiroquais första singel 'When You Gonna Learn?' ifrån 1993 som handlar om miljöfrågor och djurplågeri (och för att jag gillar låten förstås). Notera delfinerna i musikvideons början - det var mycket tal på den tiden om delfiner då de ofta fångas och dör som en följd av jakten på tonfisk. Delfiner blev även en del av modebilden, jag kommer exempelvis ihåg att min syster hade en guldring i formen av en delfin, och att det ett tag var populärt med saronger med delfin-tryck (sarong var dock aldrig min stil). Ett väldigt tydligt exempel på hur zeitgeist avspeglades i modet! Vilket annars inte alltid är så lätt att se, tycker jag. Att 90-talsmodet är inne igen tolkar jag enligt denna teori som att det är en konkretisering av lågkonjukturen som det har talats om de sista åren, och som var djup under 90-talet. Och det är även populärt nu med ekologisk mat och hudvård, samt vegetarianism, så det kanske är inspirationen till ovanstående tröja? Jag gillade den något faktiskt, fotot ovan gör den inte riktigt rättvisa.

The other day I also passed by Weekday. The pink shirt was on sale there, and the pastel colour got me thinking of the 90's fashion again, as I recalled the pair of dyed jeans in light blue pastel colour that I wore around 1995. (Pastel colours is one of the trends for this spring, btw.) At Weekday you can find many garments with a 90's grunge style. And they also sell 2:nd clothes, which became a popular thing initially in the 90's and has remained popular ever since.
On the second photo I'm trying on a sweater from Weekday which is also on sale. It reminds me of the earthy fashion trend of the 90's. For instance, I had a pair of beige boots made up of a sort of stiff linen fabric, and they had the word 'Grunge' embroidered on the side. Environmental issues was big in the 90's, so I guess that it was the spirit of the time (Zeitgeist) that was reflected in fashion in such ways.
That's why I posted Jamiroquai's first single 'When You Gonna Learn?' from 1993, which is about environmental concerns and animal abuse (and because I like the song of course). Notice the dolphins in the beginning of the video - their suffering in conjunction with tuna hunting was much talked about back then. And pictures of dolphins also became a part of the fashion scene.  For instance, my sister used to wear a gold ring that was shaped as a dolphin, and many wore sarongs with a dolphin print for a while (sarongs was never my thing though). A clear-cut example of how zeitgeist is reflected in fashion! Which in other cases isn't always so easy to see, I think. The current 90's revival is something I interpret, according to this theory, as a conceptualization of the last years economic recession, which affected the 90's deeply. And at the moment, organic food and beauty products, and vegetarianism is popular, so maybe that's the inspiration behind the above sweater? I kind of liked it actually, I don't think the picture makes it justice.

90-talstendenser hos COS

COS är en av mina favoritbutiker, jag blev oerhört glad när de öppnade i Stockholm i våras, efter att ha sett så många snygga plagg ifrån COS på de danska bloggar jag följer. Igår var jag där och kollade in rean, jag var egentligen på jakt efter denna orangefärgade cardigan, men jag hittade den inte, så jag provade ovanstående plagg istället. Jag vill klassificera dem enligt 90-talstrender:
-Färg! Som jag nämnt är det mycket färgstarka plagg i butik denna vinter. Starka färger var även inne på 90-talet minns jag. Jag kommer till exempel ihåg att jag gick i en kort orange kjol likt denna 1995, tillsammans med en batikad ribbstickad kortärmad farfarströja i mycket starka färger såsom orange (färgmatchning!), blått och grönt m.m., och till det ett par bruna mockaboots.
-Blocktrend, samt blått med brunt! Denna kjol påminner mig lite om den här. Jag gillade COS-kjolen, men den fanns tyvärr inte i min storlek, jag viker in den på bilden så att den ska passa mig. Jag tyckte verkligen att blått tillsammans med brunt var fint på 90-talet. Jag vet inte när denna färgmatchning uppkom, då 90-talet var ett årtionde där trender kom åter på modet. Detta får mig att tänka på den franske modeteoretikern Roland Barthes som ser mode som ett system som styrs av kombinationer varav det finns ändligt antal element och vissa regler för förändringar. Han menar att det t ex finns vissa plagg som kan kombineras, andra inte. Han menar även att modet är förutsägbart då det i ett historiskt perspektiv finns en väldigt markerad regelbundenhet (The Language of Fashion, p. 100-101). Kanske är då blått/brunt en sådan kombination som 'kan' kombineras och som kommer återkomma som trend?
-Minimalism! Denna kappa eller klänning (?) är både blockfärgad och väldigt enkel i  formen, och påminner mig om 90-talets minimalism.

Dagens coolaste: tjejen jag såg på stan som tog av sig sin vinterjacka och gav den till en hemlös, för att sedan fiska upp en reafyndad vinterkappa ur en påse och sätta på sig den.

COS is one of my favourite stores, I was so happy when they opened a store in Stockholm last spring, after I've seen so many beautiful things from COS in the danish fashion blogs that I read. I was there yesterday to check out the sale, and I was actually looking for this orange cardigan, but I didn't find it, so I tried on the above garments instead. I'd like to classify them according to 90's trends:
-Colour! As I've mentioned, there are many colourful clothes in stores this winter. I recall that strong colours were trendy in the 90's too. For example I remember that I had a short orange skirt in 1995, kind of like this one. I wore it together with a tie-dyed, ribbed shortsleeved henley sweater in strong colours such as orange (colour matching!), blue and green etc, and also a pair of brown suede boots.
-Colour blocking, and blue together with brown! This skirt reminds me a bit of this one. I liked the COS-skirt, but unfortunately it wasn't available in my size, I'm tucking it in on the photo to make it fit me. I really liked the colour combination of blue and brown in the 90's. I'm not sure when this colour combination originated though, since the 90's was a decade when trends resurfaced. It makes me think of the French fashion theorist Roland Barthes, who sees fashion like a system which is ruled by combinations in which there is a finite reserve of elements and certain rules of change. For example, he means that there are some elements of clothing that can be put together, but others which are not allowed. He also sees fashion as predictable, as it is historically marked by regularity (The Language of Fashion, p. 100-101). Maybe blue/brown is such a combination which can 'can' be combined and which will return in fashion?
-Minimalism! This coat or dress (?) is combining colour blocking with a simple shape, and it reminds me of the minimalistic 90's trend.


Today's coolest: the girl I saw who took of her winter jacket and gave it to a homeless person, and then took up a winter coat bought on sale from one of her shopping bags and put it on. 

Allt för håret

Ovanstående kosttillskott tar jag dagligen för mitt hår sedan 1,5 månad tillbaka. Jag började nämligen att tappa mycket hår denna sommar som en biverkning efter att ha tagit vanliga tabletter mot gräspollen-allergi. När månaderna gick och jag fortsatte att tappa mycket hår, och även min frisör kommenterade detta fick jag nog och gjorde ovanstående inköp. Som tur är märkte jag av effekten direkt, från första dagen jag började med tillskotten återgick mitt håravfall till normala nivåer. Vilken otrolig lättnad!

Det som jag tror hjälper mig mest är kosttillskottet längst till höger, MSM, vilket är rent svavel. Svavel är nämligen en viktig beståndsdel i keratin som bygger upp håret, och dessutom rensar det ut gifter ur kroppen. Svavel finns det mest av i proteinrika livsmedel, och eftersom jag precis har blivit vegetarian tror jag det kan vara bra för mig. Tipset om MSM fick jag i en hälsokostaffär, och det som var intressant var att expediten bara rekommenderade mig extra b-vitaminer och MSM, hon ansåg att andra tillskott som är avsedda för håret inte tillför något. Eftersom jag hade beställt de andra två kosttillskotten till vänster på nätet, och de ankom några dagar efter att jag hade börjat ta b-vitaminer och MSM och redan fått effekt, tror jag att det kan ligga något i vad hon sa. 

Since 1,5 months, I've been taking the above dietary supplements for my hair. I started loosing a lot of hair this summer after I'd taken a common medication against grass pollen allergy. When the months passed and I continued loosing a lot of hair, and even my hair dresser commented on it, I'd had enough and made the above purchase. Luckily, I noticed a change right away. From the very first day of taking the supplements my level of hair loss was back to normal, and it was such a relief! 

I think that it's the MSM to the right that has helped me the most. MSM is pure sulphur. It constitutes a large part of the hair's keratin, and it also has a detoxifying effect. Protein rich foods are rich in sulphur as well, and because I just recently became a vegetarian, I think it will be beneficial for me to take. I got the tip about MSM by a sales person in a health food store, and I find it interesting that she only recommended me b-vitamins and MSM.
