Veckans Inspiration

Fina Lotte ifrån The Style Cavalry visar på tidningen Eurowomans hemsida upp denna veckas shoppingfynd. Här har hon på sig en tröja ifrån COS och en kjol ifrån H&M. Jag måste definitivt ta en närmare titt på kjolen i butik!

Detta foto på den danska väskdesignern Yvonne Koné hittade jag på Fedtys blogg. Det är ifrån en tillställning  i veckan och hon har på sig skor ifrån sin första skokollektion som kommer att lanseras nästa år. Är inte skorna perfekta? Både stilrena och coola. Jag tror de skulle passa perfekt till kjolen ifrån H&M ovan. Hennes egen outfit är såklart även den oklanderlig.

I found this photo on Fedty's blog. It's of the Danish bag designer Yvonne Koné, who'll be releasing her first shoe collection next year. Here's she's wearing her own design, and aren't the shoes just perfect? Classic and cool. I think they'd be the perfect companion to the H&M skirt above. Her own styling is impeccable as well.

Leather and Suede Skirts at Beyond Retro

 

Jag hittade dessa snygga mocka- och läderkjolar  på Beyond Retro häromdagen. De tillhör en remakekollektion och hade ett fyndpris på runt 250-300 kr! Jag gillade särskilt den jadegröna mockakjolen, men den var inte i min storlek tyvärr. Jag tycker annars att den skulle vara intressant matching till en helsvart outfit. Tänk er den med rakt hår och kanske rött läppsitft till? Jag tror det skulle ge mig en lite mer dramatisk look, vilket är något jag skulle vilja satsa på framöver.

I spotted these nice suede and leather skirts at Beyond Retro the other day, they're a remake collection for a bargain price, I think it was only 250-300 SEK each! I especially fell for the jade green suede one, it was a little bit too small for me I'm sorry to say, but I think it would look great paired with an all black ensemble. Imagine that with sleek hair and maybe a red lipstick on? I think it would give some of that dramatic look I'd like to go for.

Den var på min önskelista nyligen, men tyvärr kändes den lite för stor på mig så till nästa gång har jag lärt mig att inte stressa utan att köpa det jag verkligen vill ha till ordinarie pris (om jag har råd...). Faktum är att jag därmed inte har köpt någonting alls i klädväg hittills i år, jag skickade tillbaka denna väska för den var såklart inte lika fin i verkligheten som i katalogen (när kommer jag lära mig?). Vilket känns lite extremt, men också bra. Det är inte så att jag har bestämt mig för att ha ett shopping-fritt år, de som tar ett sådant drastiskt beslut tycker jag verkar ha grava problem med överkonsumtion. Själv lever jag enligt devisen att vara selektiv när jag shoppar och håller samtidigt alltid ögonen öppna. Jag ser upp till sådana människor som har stil, men ej nödvändigtvis en överfylld garderob. Så tack Larry B för rådet om att ej stressa. Jag har tänkt göra några inlägg med outfits-bilder framöver, medan jag funderar på hur jag vill klä mig när jag inte längre studerar utan har en större inkomst. Just nu tänker jag något i stil med dyrt, svart och dramatiskt...

It was recently on my wishlist, but unfortunately it felt a bit too big on me. Until next time I've learnt not to stress but to buy the things I really want  when I want it, and not wait for sale (if I can afford it...). The fact is that I haven't bought anything at all this year clothing-wise, I returned this bag because it wasn't as nice in real life as in the catalogue (when will I learn?). Which is a bit extreme I know. It's not that I decided not to shop anything this year, I actually believe that people who take to such drastic measures surely must be shopaholics. Personally I like to be selective when it comes to shopping and at the same time always be on the lookout. I look up to people who have a great sense of style, but not necessarily a swamped wardrobe. So thanks Larry B for the advice not to stress about clothes. I've been thinking about posting some outfit pictures in the near future, while I think about how I'd like to dress when I'm not a student anymore and have a bigger income than at the moment. Right now I'm thinking something in the lines of expensive, black and dramatic...

Style Like U!

Häromdagen hittade jag en fantastisk sida som heter Stylelikeu. Här finns mängder av videointervjuer (536 st hittills) med stilinspiratörer, där de pratar om sin personliga stil och jag tycker att skaparna bakom har fått till en bra blandning av människor! De har även andra videos på teman som garderobsbyte mellan främlingar, och personliga hängivelser; som att vissa samlar på läppstift eller ballerinaskor eller vad det nu må vara, vi dras alla till olika saker.
Jag älskar den här sidan! Jag gillar att höra människor tala engagerat om varför de klär sig som de gör och leverera smarta citat om stil. Som exempelvis Larry B ovan som säger något i stil med "Fashion isn't clothes and labels. There's no need stressing about things, it's only you that's stressing, everybody's looking like you like 'calm down & move on'. I'm interested in you and where you come from, and there's so much more in you, you're enough."

The other day I found this amazing site called Stylelikeu. On it there's loads of video interviews (536 so far) with inspirational people talking about their personal style, and I think that the creators behind this site has chosen a really nice mixture of people too! There's also other videos on themes such as 'second skin', where people exchange wardrobes with each other, and 'addictions', where people talk about why they're into lipsticks or ballet flats, or whatever their obsession is.

I love this site! I love listening to people talking with enthusiasm about why they dress like they do, and delivering clever lines about style. For example Larry B above, who says something like "Fashion isn't clothes and labels. There's no need stressing about things, it's only you that's stressing, everybody's looking like you like 'calm down & move on'. I'm interested in you and where you come from, and there's so much more in you, you're enough."

Gwyneth Paltrow for Lindex

Idag släpps kollektionen 'modern preppy' på Lindex, och snygga Gwyneth Paltrow frontar kampanjen. Jag säger som talkshow-värden Jonathan Ross 'looking good in the cheaper clothes'! Jag tycker hon ser fantastisk ut i den randiga kjolen, och jag gillar såklart att även hon måste ligga i för att se så bra ut, det inspirerar mig! 

Today Swedish Lindex is releasing the collection 'modern preppy', and beautiful Gwyneth Paltrow is fronting the campaign. Like the talkshow host Jonathan Ross, I'm saying 'looking good in the cheaper clothes'! I think she looks fabulous in that striped skirt, and of course I also really like the fact that even she has to put a lot of work into looking that good, it inspires me!

Beauty Super Savings

Jag tänkte dela med mig av ett generellt (och kanske välkänt) skönhetstips: att man kan spara mycket pengar på att köpa skönhetsprodukter på nätet! 

Här kommer en lista på några av de webshops som jag har använt mig av:

-Ebay Jag har aldrig haft några problem när jag har beställt ifrån olika säljare på Ebay, alla produkter har kommit fram. Ibland har det dock tagit lång tid, upp till tre-fyra veckor när jag har beställt ifrån USA. Tänk på att skaffa ett Paypal-konto att betala med innan du sätter igång!

-Feelunique är en webshop med ett stort utbud som även har gratis frakt. Här har jag bla köpt Bare Minerals startkit för ca 420 kr jämfört med 1000 kr i vanlig butik. De har väldigt ofta rabatterbjudanden av typen köp för £30 få £3 i rabatt etc, det brukar vara större procentuell rabatt ju mer man handlar för. Man kan söka på "Feelunique voucher code" på nätet för att se om det finns något aktuellt erbjudande, eller kan man skriva upp sig för att få deras nyhetsbrev med erbjudanden på mailen, och på FB har de även ibland andra erbjudanden som gäller bara en dag. Man får även alltid 10% rabatt på ett enskilt skönhetsmärke man väljer själv, detta märke kan man byta en gång per halvår. 

-Lookfantastic har även de ett stort utbud, och numera också fri frakt. Deras rabatterbjudanden brukar se ut som Feeluniques, och för tillfälltet har de vårrea!

-Beautybay tror jag numera även har fri frakt, här har jag bland annat köpt produkter ifrån Mario Badescu, ett märke som inte är så vanligt förekommande.

-Everydayminerals är ett amerikansk mineralsminksmärke. De har bra priser och man kan beställa upp till sju prover gratis, man betalar bara för portot som är på lite drygt $3, och ett prov håller länge, 1-2 månader ungefär. Jag älskar deras flat top brush, den är väldigt mjuk och ger snabbt täckning.

-Ekoprincess har jag beställt en del ifrån på sista tiden, då de har ekologiska produkter till rimliga priser, tryck på gilla-knappen på FB för att ej missa rabatterbjudanden.

-Jag gillar utbudet i British Curlies Store och Curlmart, då de har många naturliga hårprodukter som är sulfat- och silikonfria, men tyvärr är frakten fruktansvärt dyr så det är inte ofta jag beställer ifrån dem. Min favorit här är Darcy's Botanicals Pumpkin Seed Conditioner.

-Sedan finns det såklart fler webshops, det verkar finnas en hel uppsjö av dem! Jag tror det kan vara enklast att söka på nätet efter den produkt man vill köpa, för att sen jämföra priset i de olika web-butiker som dyker upp, samt att söka på Ebay. Tänk på att inkludera fraktpriset när du jämför priset, och glöm inte heller att kolla efter rabatterbjudanden, de dyker ofta upp i många web-butiker! 

I thought I'd share with you a general (and perhaps well-known) beauty tip: the fact that you can save a lot of money by purchasing your beauty products online! Here's a list of some of the web shops that I've used: 

-Ebay I've never had any problems when ordering products from different ebay sellers, I've always received the items I've ordered. A few times the shipping time has been quite long though, up to three-four weeks when I've ordered producs from the US. Remember to get yourself a Paypal account before you get started! 

-Feelunique is a beauty web shop with a wide assortment of beauty labels, and they also have free worldwide delivery. From here I've for example bougth the Bare Minerals Starter Kit for about 420 Sek, which is 1000 Sek in Swedish stores. They often offer discounts of the type buy for £30 and get £3 off etc, the discount percentage is higher the more you spend. You can find current offers if you search for "Feelunique voucher code" on the internet, or you can sign up for their newsletter to subscribe to their offers through email, and sometimes they post other daily offers on their FB page. You also always get 10% off your favourite brand, and you can change that brand every six months.

-Lookfantastic also has a wide selection of brands, and they're now likewise offering free delivery. Their discounts are ususally similar to Feelunique's, and at this very moment they're having a spring sale!

-Beautybay has also started to offer free worldwide delivery lately, and from here I've for example purchased products from Mario Badescu, a brand that I haven't seen on other beauty web shops.

-Everydayminerals is an American mineral make up label. Their prices are fairly low, and you can order up to seven samples for free, they only charge you for the postage which is a bit over $3 to Sweden. A foundation sample lasts for about 1-2 months. I love their flat top brush, it's very soft and makes covering quick. 

-Ekoprincess is a Swedish Eco-Beauy online store that I've ordered from a couple of times lately, I think their prices are fair. Be sure to press the like button on FB to not miss out on any offers.

-I like the range in British Curlies Store and Curlmart, as they have many natural hair product without any sulfates and silicones, but it's very rarely that I order from them since their shipping costs to Sweden are immensely high. My favourite from here is Darcy's Botanicals Pumpkin Seed Conditioner.

-And of course there are more beauty web shops out there, there really seems to be plenty of them to say the least! I think the easiest way might be to search on the internet for the product that you want to buy, and then to compare the price in the online stores that show up, and to also do a search on Ebay. Remember to include the shipping cost when you compare prices, and don't forget to look for discount codes, they're frequent in many web shops!

Gina Tricot - The Perfect Tee Collection

Gina Tricot har i samarbete med modebloggaren Caroline Blomst gjort en kollektion med bastoppar som de kallar för 'The perfect tee collection', och jag tycker att det ser fint ut, särskilt stylingen, se mer här! Jag gillar även att topparna är gjorda av det miljövänliga materialet lyocell (relativt skonsamma kemikalier används vid framställning, vilka renas och återanvänds till 99%). Jeanskjolen ser även ut att vara mycket lik Acnes, men till ett betydligt lägre pris...

Gina Tricot has made a collection of basic tops in collaboration with the fashion blogger Caroline Blomst, called 'The perfect tee collection'. Topshop Newgen 10 Years

Fina t-shirts ifrån Topshops Newgen kollektion, vilka släpps den nu den 17:e februari! Kollektionen består av 20 t-shirts ifrån några tidigare vinnare av Newgen, ett projekt för att lyfta fram unga och lovande Brittiska designers. Newgen instiftades 1993 av det Brittiska moderådet, och har sponsrats av Topshop de senaste 10 åren. Ovan är det Marios Schwab, Peter Pilotto, Erdem och J W Anderson som har designat. En del av försäljningen går till välgörenhet. 

Nice t-shirts from Topshop's Newgen collection, which is released this February the 17th! The collection consists of 20 t-shirts made by past winners of Newgen, a talent identification scheme to showcase the best up-and-coming British fashion talent. Newgen was established in 1993 by the British Fashion Council, and has been sponsored by Topshop for the last ten years. The above designs are made by Marios Schwab, Peter Pilotto, Erdem and J W Anderson. A part of the sales price will go to charity. 

Vinterkappa & Ny Butik

Jag skulle behöva en ny vinterkappa, och om jag hade pengar över skulle jag satsa på denna ifrån InWear. Jag gillar den avrundade formen, och att ullmaterialet ser så mjukt ut, dessutom är den på halva priset nu.
Ett annat tips är att en av personerna bakom bloggen Anywho, vilken är en av mina favoritbloggar som ni kan se av min blogglista, i mars ska öppna en butik som ska heta B56. Av bilderna att döma verkar det vara en återspegling av hennes egna mer färgglada och roliga, men ändå smakfulla stil, som jag tycker stämmer in på Anywho och den danska stilen generellt. Butiken kommer att ligga i Köpenhamn, men som tur är kommer det även finnas en webshop. Jag kommer definitivt att kika på webshoppen när den öppnar, för jag är intresserad av mer färglada och roliga plagg nu när våren är på ingång, vilket jag kommer att skriva mer om i nästa inlägg.
För att återknyta till vinterkappan, så verkar det som att B56 kommer att sälja en fin trenchcoat som också är ifrån InWear, vilket man kan se i det högra hörnet på den andra bilden ovan.

I would really like to have a new winter coat, and if I'd had the money for it, I'd definitely go for this coat from InWear. I like the oval shape, and that the wool fabric looks so soft, plus it's on 50 % sale right now.
Another tip is that one of the persons behind the blog Anywho, which is one of my favourite blogs as you can see from my blog list, will open a store in March called B56. From the pictures shown so far, it seems like a reflection of her own colourful and fun, yet elegant style, which I think is true for Anywho and the Danish style in general. The store will be located in Copenhagen, but luckily there'll be a web shop as well. I will definitely have a look at the web shop when it opens, because I'm interested in more colourful and fun pieces now that spring is coming, I will write more about that in my next blog post.
To reconnect with the winter coat; it seems like B56 will sell a nice trench coat which is from InWear too, which you can see in the right corner on the second pic above.

Allt för håret

Ovanstående kosttillskott tar jag dagligen för mitt hår sedan 1,5 månad tillbaka. Jag började nämligen att tappa mycket hår denna sommar som en biverkning efter att ha tagit vanliga tabletter mot gräspollen-allergi. När månaderna gick och jag fortsatte att tappa mycket hår, och även min frisör kommenterade detta fick jag nog och gjorde ovanstående inköp. Som tur är märkte jag av effekten direkt, från första dagen jag började med tillskotten återgick mitt håravfall till normala nivåer. Vilken otrolig lättnad!

Det som jag tror hjälper mig mest är kosttillskottet längst till höger, MSM, vilket är rent svavel. Svavel är nämligen en viktig beståndsdel i keratin som bygger upp håret, och dessutom rensar det ut gifter ur kroppen. Svavel finns det mest av i proteinrika livsmedel, och eftersom jag precis har blivit vegetarian tror jag det kan vara bra för mig. Tipset om MSM fick jag i en hälsokostaffär, och det som var intressant var att expediten bara rekommenderade mig extra b-vitaminer och MSM, hon ansåg att andra tillskott som är avsedda för håret inte tillför något. Eftersom jag hade beställt de andra två kosttillskotten till vänster på nätet, och de ankom några dagar efter att jag hade börjat ta b-vitaminer och MSM och redan fått effekt, tror jag att det kan ligga något i vad hon sa. 

Since 1,5 months, I've been taking the above dietary supplements for my hair. I started loosing a lot of hair this summer after I'd taken a common medication against grass pollen allergy. When the months passed and I continued loosing a lot of hair, and even my hair dresser commented on it, I'd had enough and made the above purchase. Luckily, I noticed a change right away. From the very first day of taking the supplements my level of hair loss was back to normal, and it was such a relief! 

I think that it's the MSM to the right that has helped me the most. MSM is pure sulphur. It constitutes a large part of the hair's keratin, and it also has a detoxifying effect. Protein rich foods are rich in sulphur as well, and because I just recently became a vegetarian, I think it will be beneficial for me to take. I got the tip about MSM by a sales person in a health food store, and I find it interesting that she only recommended me b-vitamins and MSM. She said that she found other dietary supplements marketed for healthy hair to be much less essential. Since I'd ordered the other two supplements to the left from a web shop earlier, and they didn't arrive until a few days after I'd started taking the b-vitamins and MSM, of which I'd already had felt an effect, I think that she might have a point.

Marni för H&M

Marni är näst ut att samarbeta med H&M, kollektionen kommer nå butik den 8:e mars. Personligen har jag aldrig haft något större intresse för H&Ms designsamarbeten tidigare, och jag får återkomma till ämnet i början av mars nästa år för att se om jag känner som jag gör nu, men denna gång är jag betydligt mer exalterad! Jag kan redan nu se den lilamönstrade dräktjackan till ett par svarta stuprörsjeans framför mig.
Marni förknippar jag med med mönstrat, damiga skärningar, och platåskor, så jag gillar hur Marnis chefsdesigner tillika grundare säger att denna kollektion kommer att tilltala en yngre publik. Jag tycker även det är intressant att de som inspiration nämner Bauhaus grafik, då även Acne har refererat till Bauhaus, men då i den avskalade formens betydelse.

Marni is next in line to design a collection for H&M, which will be in stores on March 8. Personally, I've never been that interested in H&M's earlier designer collaborations, and I'll get back to the subject in early March to see if I feel the way I do now, but this time around, I'm much more exited! I can already vision the purple print suit jacket paired with a pair of black, skinny jeans. I associate Marni with prints, ladylike cuts, and platform shoes, so I like the fact that Marni's chief designer, and also founder, expresses that this collection will speak to a younger audience. I also find it interesting that they mention Bauhaus graphics as a source of inspiration, when Acne also has referred to Bauhaus, but then in the meaning of clean shapes. 

Tävlingstips!

Väskan ifrån Yvonne Koné går att vinna på blameitonfashion just nu, tävlingen pågår t.o.m. torsdag. Jag tycker den är oerhört fin, och har haft den på min 'om-jag-hade-råd-önskelista' sedan jag såg den första gången på någon blogg i somras.

Det andra fotot är ifrån Zara's hemsida, där man har chansen att vinna 300€ i presentkort om man skickar in ett foto på sig själv där man bär kläder ifrån märket. Flera vinnare dras varje vecka.

Själv är jag dock inte ett stort fan av Zara, då jag sällan ser något i deras butiker som jag finner intressant, samt då jag tycker att kvalitén inte är så bra och att priset är för högt för den kvalitén. Jag gjorde nyligen en uppsats om Zara, och då fick bl a jag reda på att deras affärsidé är att se på kläder som på livsmedel, dvs något som förbrukas snabbt, och följaktligen behöver inte kvalitén vara så hög. Men jag vill ändå tipsa om denna tävling för er andra som tycker om Zara, och trots min kritik anser jag att att man aldrig ska säga aldrig, för vem vet kanske kommer jag att hitta något fint där någon dag. Kläder kan man hitta på alla möjliga ställen, det gäller bara att hålla ögonen öppna.

The second photo is from zara's web page, where you can win 300€ to spend if you send in a photo of yourself wearing an outfit with clothes from the brand. Several winners are selected each week.
Personally I'm not a big fan of Zara, as I rarely find things for myself there, and also because I think their quality isn't that great and that the price is too high for the quality you get. I recently did a paper about Zara, and I found out that their business idea is to consider clothes as something that is as quickly used up as food, and therefore, the quality isn't what's most important. But I still want to inform you who like Zara about this contest. And in spite of my critique, I want to say that you shall never say never, meaning that maybe I'll find something I really like in there someday, who knows. Because I believe that you can find clothes at all kinds of places, you just have to keep a keen eye.
